Hi - my husband and 2 year old son have NF1. I need a simple explanation I can share with others when they ask what the "brown spots" are on my son's skin. Also, concerned because he already has several fibromas and I thought they don't ordinarily develop until puberty. Help!

  • HI, Bambi,I know that it has been a while since you posted this but I will see if I can help. I have NF1 as well as my son. Neither one of us have any problems other than the "birthmarks". I have always called them my beauty marks. There this a lot of info out on the web about NF. This website is a good one, http://www.ctf.org/. Of course there are many others too but some of the info was a bit over my head because they used a lot of medical terminology. Sorry for the information overload especially if you already got your answer. I just found this forum today. Michelle
