Endometrial Ablation last Friday

 I just had an endometrial ablation last Friday; I guess I expected to feel much better than I do. Yes, my bleeding has stopped, but I still "just don't feel well."

I have nausea, clammy feeling on back of my neck and at my throat/chest area. I have a constant dull headache & feel sorta like I've got a stiff neck. Sometimes it feels as if my heart is throbbing in my stomach. I feel as if I have to catch my breath/sigh alot to get enough air...sometimes seeing "spots" in front of my eyes...

I was taking Medroxyprogesterone for about 6 weeks, but stopped after my surgery when my doctor said I could stop.

I really haven't felt well for quite a long while and I've experienced the above symptoms quite frequently for several years. I'm really tired of not feeling well, tired of telling people I don't feel well, and tired of not being able to enjoy doing everyday things--like going to a free concert with my husband, walking to the store, etc.

I've had plenty of tests--blood, ultrasound, even thyroid; my husband sometimes tells me that it's "all in my head" and that if I'd get up and do things, I'd feel better; that doesn't seem to help at all.

Does anyone have any suggestions? for treatment? diagnosis? relief?

  • Hi - you know your symptoms sound very familiar...have you ever been diagnosed with panic or anxiety disorder? I get the same symptoms during periods of stress in my life. I was on Effexor for 5 years which completely took away the symptoms, but I just didn't want to be on the medication any longer. I have been med free for 2 years and have to muscle through the periods of anxiety with watching my diet and just breathing and telling myself I am OK. I would recommend getting a complete physical and talking to your doctor about panic/anxiety disorder.Good Luck!

  • Hey, thanks for your input! You know, that possibility has never occurred to me despite the fact that I'm on medication for severe depression, and have been for six years...and, I do recall having some sort of "attack" about ten years or so ago which definitely involved panic & anxiety; it lasted three days, and was only relieved when I took some of my mom's Ativan. You've really gotten me to thinking. I do have substantial stress going on at the moment and certainly never seem to be completely stress-free. I've just turned 49 and, after having my surgery two weeks ago, I'm starting to realize I have no choice left but to confront my bad habits (smoking, drinking, irregular sleep patterns) and poor eating patterns as well as imbalanced nutrition; I've just never been disciplined or determined to help myself physically -- but it looks like I haven't much of a choice except to continue "suffering" and feeling crummy. Maybe I can "trick myself" somehow into trying some healthier life-habits....any suggestions on that?? Thanks again! hmmmmmm....

You just dont have a panic attack one day because you have surgery . Panic attacks are brought on since early times in a persons life . Its a attention getter for pre- mental problems. Lots of people have several problems from this surgery its not in thei head.
