Endo woth Depo?

Hi All,

I've had endometriosis since I was a teen though it took years to figure out. When the laproscopy was done, she found an endronoma (sp) on the lft ovary and ended up doing actual surgery to remove it and save the ovary. Cut forward - had two kids in the next three years and went on depo shot for the last four years. I now have tremendous pain in the left ovary. Had an ultra sound last year when it started and all they saw was lots of scar tissue. The pain has gotten steadily worse and my internist has now ruled out any intestinal issues and says its definitely something in the ovary. I'm scheduled for another ultrasound and my gyn nurse said that it's likely the endo back again.

Is that possible having been on depo shots for so long? I'm just really fearful it could be something much worse. Also, if it is the endo and they remove the ovary this time, does anyone know if it helps long term?

Thanks any help appreciated..

  • Hi, Please forgive my spelling if you dont mind :) First off I feel your pain .I have had this for 7 years . I after secound child had depo shot and I bleed for a year .I still have endo and cests ,I dont think its the depo .I belive endo is somthing that is just hard to control . I have been on every kind of birthcontrol and still Im in same boat .I have had laperscop surgary and i was told . Every couple years I will have to have this done , so I am pain free for while . I my self is at alost , i have had many nights in ER and people treating me like i was drug seeking . I have seen many of gyno because they would'nt either hear me out or tell me i had flu . Or there bedside manner sucked . I belive its indo and dont think the depo did the job of holding back the edo from growing . I was just in the ER the outher night and i had cests on each ovary , And doc said i felt full what ever that means . Here is a vidow for you and lots ifo ,may help you out on figuering this out on your own anyways till u see doc again . I know it helped me to feel it is endo and not somthing else , because i do understand that fear .I read and found this last night . And walked away feeling ok its not in my mind .I hope it does same for you and answer some of your worrys. Your not alone *wishing you lots of luck:)
