I've had endometriosis since I was a teen though it took years to figure out. When the laproscopy was done, she found an endronoma (sp) on the lft ovary and ended up doing actual surgery to remove it and save the ovary. Cut forward - had two kids in the next three years and went on depo shot for the last four years. I now have tremendous pain in the left ovary. Had an ultra sound last year when it started and all they saw was lots of scar tissue. The pain has gotten steadily worse and my internist has now ruled out any intestinal issues and says its definitely something in the ovary. I'm scheduled for another ultrasound and my gyn nurse said that it's likely the endo back again.
Is that possible having been on depo shots for so long? I'm just really fearful it could be something much worse. Also, if it is the endo and they remove the ovary this time, does anyone know if it helps long term?
Thanks any help appreciated..
