Weird Blood Sugars

I have pre-diabetes and I have been very depressed lately so I have been eating A LOT of carbs to try to keep myself level personality wise, but when I check my blood sugar levels daily, usually an hour or two after I have eaten all the carbs, my blood sugars come out normal sometimes even kinda low. I was wondering if maybe this means that I don't have diabetes or if maybe something else is wrong with me that may be causing this. My last insulin test said that I was at over double the amount I should have in my system at 28 with the highest being an 11. Also my doctor recently lowered my metformin from 2000 to 1000 mgs a day. I would think with that kind of change my blood sugars would be through the roof. Any advice would be appreciated.

  • Elevated levels of insulin does not mean that you have high blood glucose. Your insulin is still regulating your sugars well, but the high levels of insulin cause your body to become resistant to it. Causing sugarcravings and weight gain. Kiera
