I am a 34yr old female. Last year I had very heavy, irregular (too close together) periods that were as long as 21 days sometimes. I was told I'd need a hysterectomy. I took ***g Quai and my periods returned to normal. Over the past year my hair has thinned a lot. Now my symptoms are fatigue, dry skin with eczema patches, constipation, weight gain (especially in the belly), abdominal bloating, and excessive hair loss. I have problems with hypoglycemia at times. I have always been thin and my stomach was the least fatty area on my body. I have 3 children (youngest 3yrs). Last year I had a lot of emotional stress in my marriage and had a herniated disc in my neck which started getting better in September/October. So I was taking muscle relaxers and Percocet for about 6 months. I thought the hair loss/irregular periods were from stress.
I had a thyroid test yesterday and my results were in the 'normal range'. TSH was 1.64 and T4 was 6.5.
My dr prescribed 100mcg of Levothyroxine due to my symptoms that I am going to start in the morning.
