Steriods safe with undiagnosed pheochromocytoma or cushings?

I am currently being tested for pheochromocytoma and now they are also looking into it possibly being Cushings... while this is going on (and on and on and on it seems) my Knee specialist wants to give me some steriod injections for severe chronic tendonitis and bursitis.

Am I wrong?, I thought you were not supposed to use any steroids if there is a possibility of Cushings...?
