Many thanks for these posts. They are very helpful. I have many of the same symptoms but a few that weren't mentioned here. I'm curious if anyone else has experienced them, so I'll describe them below.
I suffer from extreme fatigue (flu like symptoms) after a grueling workout, like mt biking or trail running a few hours. I also experience the symptoms *during* workouts if I'm out on a long, endurance race (4+ hours.) I'm not good at managing my calorie intake during races, although I drink plenty of water and take electrolyte tablets. I know it seems like an obvious that I should just try and tweak my food and see if the symptoms go away, but there are a couple of other things that are very mysterious so I wonder if it's something more.
Lately, I've noticed that I feel like I'm in a mental fog after my longer workouts - my body just feels exhausted, I have a stuffy head, etc.. I also suffer from some night sweats and am prone to hangover-like feelings after just one or two drinks. I have a similar reaction to food that's high in sodium (not necessarily MSG, but Thai and other food with high sodium content.)
Has anyone experienced the night sweats and sodium sensitivity? I didn't see them mentioned here, so I'm just wondering.
