I have a lean body structure with slim legs and arms & in my late thirties. I have a pot belly and it look very odd for my structure. Its not that much easy to get that when I am completely dressed, but in bare body, its visible. Iam doing push ups to get rid of the same. But with no improvement. Even I got rid of alcohol and junk food habits to minimize the extra muscles around the stomach

Read that its not possible to get rid of extra muscles in one portion and it needs to be reduced as a whole (body fat content). But my situation is entirely different as If I go down in body as a whole.. it adds to my misery. I do not have % of my body fat..

Any tips

  • If you were having quite a bit of alcohol, that could have caused the "beer belly" Barring any disease state that is going on, I'm not sure what else it could be. Since you mentioned alcohol, I thought of that first. Also, it's not muscle. You're only going to develop extra muscle there if you have been doing alot of abdominal exercises. Unfortunately, pot belly is more than likely just extra fat in that area. If you are experiencing any other symptoms, you might want to get checked by your doctor to make sure there is not an illness of some sort causing this.
