Post Partum Thyroid--How long does it last?

Hi all! My whole story in a nutshell goes like this:

In late April of 2010, I ended up having a miscarriage, and about 6 weeks later I began suffering with some strange symptoms (nervousness, trembling of hands, weakness, etc.) and was discovered I had hyperthyroidism. Since my blood tests from March showed a normal TSH level, and then it didn't go high until after the miscarriage (along with an elevated t4 as well) it was figured it was post partum thyroidisis (sp?) causing it.

Fast forward to today, I'm still having symptoms of a over-active thyroid. I was put on a very low dose of methimazole (five mg. a day) just this November... which have improved my symptoms, and I'm being monitored like a hawk to make sure my TSH and t4 doesn't go hypo too quick... but it's been almost seven months total now....when does the hyperthyroid stage of PPT usually end? Has anyone had any experience with this? I keep looking up info about this, but I keep reading on average, I should of been out of the hyper stage by now. Any help is appreciated!
