Hi im a 25 year old female for around a year now i have started to put on weight. Six months ago i noticed an unusual amount of hair on my face etc, and started losing alot of hair on my head. Now also my cheeks and face are swollen as well as the glands in my neck . My acne has increased and my periods have become irregular or non existant. From a year ago I am looking quite masculine and people that i used to know now barely even recognise me.
I have been to many different gps, and have had full lood tests done, they have all come back fine. I am starting to get depressed because of all this.
If anyone can help with answers as to what may be wrong with me, I would really appreciate it...

  • Did they test your testosterone level? Part of your issue with the weight gain, irregular periods, loosing hair on your head (are you getting a male pattern baldness?) and the getting facial hair, sound like it could be polycystic ovulation syndrome (PCOS) Have you had an ultrasound done on your ovaries? to see if they are polycystic. Get your doctor to send you to a gynocologist. (it took specialists to diagnose me). PCOS is the highest cause of infertility in females.
