Hii my name is Franss, i'm 16 years old and it's my first time on a medicine forum =(
I can't diagnose myself because i have a huge number of symptoms related to different diseases...Though i almost certain it's something about my thyroid..

I started an ovo-lacto-vegetarian diet in December, i'm taking b12 supplements, i eat wakame seaweed (i heard it's rich in omega 3 fats and in iodine needed for correct thyroid function) i eat soup daily, 1/2 fruits a day (mostly strawberries), carrots, tomatoes, lettuce, veggies burgers, soy (but not excessively because i know it has estrogen :c ), low fat yogurts, almond milk.. Oh and i'm on a 1100/1300 kcal diet. (i hated my body and i wanted to lose some weight, which i did, and now I'm happy) I have 165 cm (5.4 ft) and 46,5 Kg (102.5 lbs)

Lately I've been experiencing these symptoms:
-cold intolerance
-joint pain
-amenorrhea (since january)
-neck pain (probably in the thyroid =( this really freaked me out!!! The pain started yesterday and got worse at night, today when i woke up it was less intense but i assume that'll get worse again...)
-brittle nails
-hair loss
-dry skin (but i've always had dry skin so i guess it's not a symptom)
-weight loss (due to my diet, so probably not a symptom)
-and my eyes feel dry

I guess it's all here... I'm so scared.. I searched for thyroid problems and I found out thyroid cancer can even affect teenagers :( please help

Additional info:
-i workout my arms, legs and abs everyday (strength training)
-i walk everyday to school
-i don't eat hydrogenated fat, junk food, or anything like that..
-i sleep 6:30/7 hours
-i don't smoke
-i have good grades (I CAN concentrate)

  • Hi ThereAll the things you have listed certainly sound like a thyroid problem, but one way to find out is a simple blood test from your Doc.Hope you get sorted soon:)
