I am a 20 year old male who has had a whole buttload of problems. Here is a quick list of symptoms, some i've had as long as i can remember, some, like hair thinning/loss has just been in the last year or two:
-pale skin
-purple under eyes
-hands and feet always extremely cold
-lactose intolerance
-constant belching
-purple hands, fingernails
-sensitive, dry eyes
-hair loss on head and in two patches on each calf
-dry, flaky skin
-thin, brittle hair
-occasional mouth sores
-restless legs
-acid reflux
-fainting from changing positions quickly
-easy dizziness
-chewing ice all the time

I have also throughout my childhood got many ear infections and sinus infections and was always a sickly kid compared to most people. The only baldness in my family comes from my father's mother's side, all of her brothers were bald. I have been diagnosed with raynaud's and GERD, but i'm pretty sure i don't have raynauds because my hands don't turn white and they are always cold, not just in episodes. I've started to have panic attacks recently about going bald because my hair is getting so thin on top. Please help with feedback, i have a doctor's appointment tomorrow and will hopefully get some blood tests done.

In my experience chewing ice is pica and from low iron. restless legs can also be from low iron. If a man has low iron it either means internal bleeding or absorption problems -- you could for instance be celiac. The belching and lactose intolerance suggest digestive issues also. I have no clue about acid reflux, but belching issue might be helped with digestive enzymes. Lack of digestive enzymes is often caused by not ENOUGH HCL. Maybe do some online searches to see if acid reflux could be caused by not enough HCL and thus the food sitting in the stomach longer until it becomes irritating. There are many reasons you could lose hair but you are so young that I am thinking also most likely due to digestive issues. You need sulfur for your hair. Not taking or absorbing antioxidants can cause hair loss. Not enough B vitamins can cause hair loss. Hyperthryoid can cause hair loss but you sound more hypo. Depends on what sort of mouth sores -- cheilosis is caused by anemia from lack of B vitamins (maybe particularly B2 and/or B12 (methylcobalamin)). orthostatic hypotension is caused by low blood volume, antidepressants, blood pressure meds, possibly other meds, but also Addison's (which is low functioning adrenal gland, and what I suspect most). But your adrenal gland needs B5 and no doubt other things so it could really all be due to digestive issues. You aren't on any stomach acid blocker are you? I am not a doctor, these are just some things to suspect and look into.MadAnthony

  • sensitive dry eyes, dry skin, mouth sores (which may happen due to dryness) .. dryness is a stand out sign of Sjogren's syndrome. http://www.sjogrens.org/home/about-sjogrens-syndrome/symptoms Sjogrens is thought to be an autoimmune issue and it isnt uncommon for it to coexist secondly with other illnesses esp autoimmune conditons in which it does in 50% of cases. "fainting from changing positions quickly" Known as orthostatic intollerance. May be caused by low BP or autonomic issues such as Postural orthostatic tachycardia syndrome (POTS) which often coexists with other issues......... Many of your issues do seem to be digestive.. it is common for those with lactose intollerance to have other intollerances or issues with food. The ice chewing could indicate a deficiency so I suggest getting some good tests done for decificiencies.
