Hello lst timer,
I am 51yo white guy who has had a terrible jouney though the maze of trying to get help/relief from a thyroid disorder.
My test have been up down normal. I have been to UCSF where I got a mri of the brain and also saw endocronologist who barely gave mw the time of day. I was put on Levothyroxine small dose and hydrocortisone in begining. Ended up getting Epsien-Barr 6 months after lst diag. Had bad asthma also and took prednisone. After 48 hrs on prednisone l felt like a new person. The tyroid symptoms all but went away. I have too many to mention but all the classics. So for the last year I have been arguing with Drs about prednisone as a therapy. It has been very very frustrating. So here's my question. Does anyone out there have /had ahy experience ith being on prednisone and how did you get the Dr to ok/put you on it. There are a few webpages l have come across that do mention it as a drug that can be used to help with inflamation. My thyroid is very painful although a impromptu ultrasound showed no masses. Thank you for any input that could help. Qreq
