Please can anyone help, I have been getting increasing symptoms over the last three years.

-started off with fainting spells, ( sometimes white shapes float over eyes and then goes black but not always collapse, then sit down/rest and it goes away)
-increasing anxiety evern over insignificant things
-cant gain weight, not altered at all in last 3 years, recently lost few pounds, BMI 16(very underweight)
-cold especially hands and feet (all the time)
-hair is thin and comes out easily
-had put a plaster on the other day and had a sort of localisted reaction (area went very red and hurt not itchy took about a week for it to go) never had this before.
- increasing tiredness, strange pattern (very tired in morning evern after sleep, about 11 am start to feel more awake, after dinner about 3pm feel really tired again, then 6pm feel less tired, then 8.30pm feel really tired again) some days feel less tired than others so begin to question weather it is really there.
-low blood sugar
-lack of energy/stamina, slow walking or walking upstairs i need to rest for a min

no obvious discolouration of skin

been to GP did blood tests:
-thyroid-normal
-U+E's - normal
-fasting blood glucose test - 1.2mmol
-full blood count-normal so not anaemic
-cortisol (single) test - within range
- did blood pressure said it was normal

Doest this sound like some sort of adrenal / hormonal problem?

Thank you.

  • The blood tests you had seem to rule out most adrenal problems. Another consideration would be some kind of autoimmune rheumatic condition. Particlarly is you're having any joint or muscle pain.

  • What time was the cortisol drawn? I think your symptoms sound adrenal related; such as adrenal hyperactivity. Do you feel better if you drink extra fluids? Have you had an aldosterone level drawn?
