Carcinoid Syndrome

I have been ill, and my doctor felt that my symptoms all align with carcinoid syndrome - a lot!
-diarrhea, flushing on my face and neck, nausea, arthritis, over heating, wheezing.

We did the 5HIAA test and serotonin and it was normal. The pain i have is in my appendix area. Is there anyway that it could still be carcinoid syndrome without having elevated serotonin and 5hiaa levels? if its in the appendix where my pain has always been, is that a place that CT's (which I've had) can't get to?
