weird throat pain

I have been dealing with these symptoms for over two months now, but I'm making another thread. A lot of my symptoms are tightness in the middle of my chest, I feel like I can't get a full breath of air at times, and I have this weird ball feeling in my throat that hurts sometimes and it feels like plegm and very tight. It is almost like a choking feeling, but it's just really uncomfortable. I went to my doctor and had blood work done everything was fine, no thyroid problems no nothing. I am having an endoscopy done next month, and I am currently taking aciphex for the acid reflux I was diagnosed with. It helps but I still get these symptoms. Has anyone else experienced symptoms like these?

I also sometimes get the feeling it is hard to swallow, but I have never actually choked or come close to it. It feels like it takes to long to swallow liquids, food, or saliva sometimes.

My symptoms aren't there constantly they seem worse at night. :(

  • Because you were already diagnosed with acid reflux, your symptoms sound very much like GERD. Google it and see if there is a match.

  • The symptoms for GERD and other things are sometimes very different for some people, so that may be the problem; however, tell you doctor if the meds aren't working and ask if there is anything else you can try. I have GERD (among other things) and I had to try so many different reflux medicines until I found the right one for me. My body finally settled on Prevacid Solutabs, 30mg 2x/day. But seriously, I have taken so many of those meds out there and this was the only one that worked. Strange, but true. So tell your Dr if something doesn't work. And don't wait. Go ahead and call the office. Usually, they will change the Rx by phone. I hope this helps!
