Weird Cracking Fluid Sound Un My Head/Ears

Hi,

I was diagnosed with Rhinitis about a year ago .

About 4-5 months ago II started getting this weird cracking/gritty sound like fluid swishing around whenever i move my head side to side or rotate it around. The sound is not there when my head is still.

I do have a bit of Post nasal drip that seems very thick as i have to snort hard in order to get it into my throat to be able to clear it out. I cannot blow it out of my nose because there is nothing in my nose to blow out.

Im realy concerned about this sound of crackling fluid moving around in my head.

I was to see my ENT dr about 3 months ago and he checked my ear and said there was no fluid and to see my dentist which i did and he did not feel it was anything to do with my teeth/jaw.

The sound is getting stronger and i am really worried this could be somehting terrible and life threatening (I am a constant worrier and always diagnose my self with the worst).

I have no other symptoms of earachs, pains or anything other then the thick PND.

If the ENT saw no fluid with his little handheld lighted thingy could this still mean there is some sort of fluid gushing around in there when he said he didnt see any?

Thanks!

  • Can you describe it more in detail? Where exactly is it? When does it happen? How long have you had it? Does it ever go away?

  • Hi, I too, have been hearing water/fluid sounds in my head or behind both ears when I turn over t either side in the bed when sleeping. Or just lying down for a while. I now hear it when I'm doing the number 2 on the toilet and straing/constipated. This have been going on for about 5 years now. And the doctors never see any fluid in the ears but they do see inflamed nasal passages, where the say the fluid from my nasal or not draining and I'm giving nasal spray and drops. It stops the sound for a a few weeks then the sound of water/fluid running behind both ears start again. What causes this and can this be serious or cause serious probably if not cleared up? I now have rashes appearing in the inner thigh area start off like a bump but by a few hours of itching and straching the round ringworm shape rash, which doctors says is not a ringworm, but don't know what it is and what causes this rash have appear now 3 times over the past 2 months. It's round in shape flat feeling to the touch and raised on the end of the round shape form. Now instead of just my inner right thigh is has reappeared on my right breast (under my arm area of breast), the crease of my legs right side (groin area, but I'm a female). A small lump/bump a side of a quarter, smaller than the rest rest which are about the size of an orange.A and one is also onmy left buttocks. What can be causes this, I have not bee sexually active in a year and my test comes back negative from the lab?

  • iiiiiiiiiiI have the same problem, and it freaks me out! It only happens to me once in a while, and I never think about it until it happens. It's always on the upper right side of my head, and whenever it seems like i turn my head to the right i hear that weird cracking/fluid type noise. It's not painful..and i don't think i really feel anything too much, but the nose creeps me out. I wish I knew what it was - I told my doctor about it before and he had pretty much no idea what the ***l i was talking about and had never heard anyone having similar symptoms. It would be nice to know what it is, and find out if it's anything to worry about! If anyone does find out anything about it please post it on here!

  • I have the same fluid sound in my ears as well. It reminds me of the sound when you get water in your ear and can't get it out. I don't experience it often, but when I do, it drives me crazy. I searched the internet for information about this and stumbled upon a site where other people were describing their symptoms. I can't remember the site, but I do remember that I felt at ease after reading the information there. I don't think there is much to worry about. If there was, I'm sure your ENT doctor would have investigated further.

  • I have the same issue. I found that if I pull on my ears, the sound goes away.

    Has anyone else tried this?
