I have had three episodes of my throat swelling this week. Finally, a ER PA and doc said I had a strep throat. One side of my throat had pus on it and that was what was swelling. They gave me a steroid shot, amoxicillin and prednisone taper. However, last night I ate some soup and that side swelled again. Luckily, I had just taken the prednisone. The swelling went down. It is very frightening when your throat swells. Will it stop when the strep goes away? And has anyone else heard of strep making the throat swell. I have had strep several times and my throat never swelled. ThanksReply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
