throat pressure (left side right below the jawline)

I am a 25 year old male and I lift and exercise daily. I have been having this strange symptom for about a month now. It started out as a very mild sore throat on the left side right below the jaw line. This went away after a week but I was left with mild pressure on the left side of my throat right below the jaw line. It isn't painful in any way, just extremely annoying. I really only notice it when swallowing or if I scrunch my head to my left shoulder (It does not inhibit me in anyway). Additionaly it goes away when I eat but comes back after about an hour. I don't notice it when I wake up in the morning either. I've been to the doctor twice but have had no success for a diagnosis (No mono or strep and nothing showed up in my blood either). Sometimes the pressure extends up into my left ear but again it is not painful just annoying. Has anyone had symptoms like this before? Furthermore, should I be concerned?

PS: I do smoke socially, when out with friends for drinks and such.

  • I am a 24 year old male and I am experiencing the same type of symptoms. Mine started around the time I got sick in February this year and I lost my voice for some time. It isn't painful but it is downright annoying. It feels like there is swelling but I can't see it when i look in the mirror. I am curious to find out what it is but also have anxiety that it may be cancer. Have you found anything out from your doctor?

  • I am a 25 year old female and am suffering from the same thing, except mine causes me to hyperventilate. I have been seeing a new doctor now and am running a bunch of different test. My old doctor said anxiety but I don't think it is......I did some respiratory test and they came back as low (abnormal). I am being tested for emphysema. Didn't know you can have it as a non-smoker, but I guess it is more common then people think. Anyhow, if you find any answers please let me know. My throat is getting progressively worse and I am suffering from breathing attacks more frequently. It is starting to effect my daily life.
