Sore sides of tongue

The sides of the back of my tongue get very irritated and sore. Sometimes I have trouble talking, this has been on going for 10 years, some months are better than others..I have been to 3 specialists and they can't find anything wrong. Its so discouraging as its a constant irritant. I find sugar aggravates it more and no way can I eat spicy foods. I would be appreciative of any suggestions at all. thanks!
