I've been very sick since January of this year with primary symptoms being dizziness (not true vertigo but not pre-syncope), generalized muscle weakness, stabbing headaches in various places, and Neurological Symptoms. I've had many tests including 2 MRIs of the brain and a CT Scan of the head all three of which show extensive blockage of my right sinuses. My ENT does not think that all of my symptoms come from this problem but is willing to operate to take the blockage out. The idea is that then we will at least know what it is, we'll be able to run cultures and other tests on the material and he'll be able to see if there is other diseased tissue in the area. We can also get my Neurologist to take a brain fluid sample to test since I cannot have a spinal tap without general anesthesia due to an acute fear of needles.
Does anyone have any experience with this kind of procedure? Is there anything I should know about that my doctors might not tell me or that I should ask about?
