Red stripe on nose not due to drinking

For years I have had a recurrent red stripe on the end of my nose unrelated to stress or drinking alcohol or exercise. SOmeone said it was vascular, I dont even know what that really means. SOmetimes it is two stripes and its not always in the same place. Its just blood under the skin yes, but why ??? ANd is it a symptom of something? Im not gonna end up like those ld guys with huge bulbous noses am I? Im 50 and female and weigh 10 stone andam 5'5".
