Hello, I took my little boy the doctors about 3 weeks ago because he couldn't keep his feeds down (not an issue now) & after investigating him, the doctor noticed a dark blue like appearance on the surface of his tongue & has since referred him to the hospital (awaiting appointment), the discolouration (as she referred to it) was at the time just near the back of his tongue, so we didn't notice it but it has since slowly spread to become more noticeable.
I took my little boy to the dentist for a 2nd opinion & he said the same & that it didn't appear to be anything serious as he is well in himself.
The reason why I am concerned is because this varicose vein looking like thing pops up also but it isn't always there, its in the middle of his tongue, near the back. Anyway, I took him to the emergency hospital because the first time I thought it was my imagination as it went but someone else noticed it the 2nd time, again the told me he seems fine in himself, no other symptoms so to just wait for the appointment but he is my little boy, he can't tell me if something is bothering him & apart from constant sleepless nights which I put down to teething & nystagmus, a what seems to be unrelated eye condition, he really does seem fine.
I know its a longshot but if anyone has any ideas, I would be grateful.
