I was punched in the nose by accident during a karate class back in November 2006. When the injury occured, I immediately ran off the mat because I had the sensation my nose was bleeding; however when I went into the bathroom, it wasn't. My nose swelled a bit, bruised, and I experienced sinusitis. We also noticed my nose was misshapen afterwards and unfortunately, it still is - my septum is crooked and the side of my nose is now crooked. I have been experiencing sinusitis on the side I was punched on ever since the injury - it is constantly stuffed and runny and also I have a post nasal drip and cough. I have been living on a decongestant to keep things moving and draining (no antihistamines though for fear of 'rebound'). I have finally been seen by my GP and he said 'Yes, I see the septum is crooked, and so is your nose, but I've seen much worse and there's nothing I can do'. He also is blaming it indirectly on allergies and isn't convinced it broke. He also told me an x-ray may not have even shown the break if there was one. He prescribed an antibiotic. Does anyone have any suggestions for me? I am considering seeing an ENT but wish I could get a conclusive diagnosis.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
