Post Nasal Drip/Catarrh

I suffer from allergies to dust and pollen and often have a lot of catarrh in the back of my throat because of this. I have been using prescribed antihistamines, nasonex and another nasal spray to control this for a couple of years. This has kept the allergy post nasal drip under more control.

Over the last 2 months the catarrh has been really thick and I cannot seem to clear it. I cough with it and gag/choke when I talk sometime - I'm at a loss as to what I can do to try to clear it. I have tried decongestants (for no more than 3-4 days at a time), steam and sinus rinses but with no success. Are there any other suggestions as to what I can try to clear this?
