Hubby has been hoarse for a month,Went to doctor finnaly and he is being sent to ENT to check for polips on vocal cords or in nose.He said there is no swelling or lumps but they will check for cancer also,Put him on Nasacort AQ.
We can't get into the ENT for 3 months,What is symptoms of Vocal cancer? The only symptom he has is loss of voice when he is at work.It clears up to almost normal when been home from work for a few days.So I and the doctor is thinking allergy but why is the doctor looking for cancer? He did say its probably unlikely. If it cancer wouldn't there be other symptoms like pain in the throut?I am getting worried.Doctor said he thinks it may just be post nasel drip. What are the chances of it just being that?He has had symptoms of post nasel drip for 17 years.Burnt nose up when a teen with drugs.Stopped them when we met.

  • I just read on the net that with a hoarse voice you need to rest the voice to get it to go away,he has to scream all day over loud machines. This could explain why it seems to get better over weekend when away from work and get bad when at work.
