I have these symptoms now for about 3 days and it is really annoying because I tend to be preoccupied with it and worry of what it is, really. I have been experiencing clogged/blocked right ear and everytime I open my mouth, the block seems to be more noticable. Is it also possible that this happened because I used to stiffle my sneezes? Also, I dont know if its psychological but I tend to have hearing problems also. Furthermore, I had experienced allergic rhinitis for the past week. When I went to an ENT doctor he prescribed me with anti-inflammatory and anti-allergy and a saline spray. But this did not ease my problems...Please help me.

  • I had the same exact problem!!!!!! My doctor spent almost an hour with me and figured it out - and my 'right' ear cleared up within HOURS of taking the meds he prescribed!! Was just a quick fix - not a long term solution but at least my ear cleared up! He prescribed me prednisone! He said the inflammation due to my TMJ was pressing on my inner ear parts and causing me not to hear - and he was right. He prescribed the prednisone in an unusual manner - If I remember right I took a bunch at first and gradually tapered off (I know regular prednisone is similar, but this lasted like 10 days if I remember right). But I took 5mg tablets - the entire prescription totalled about $5! Worked great for me! Best wishes!
