Ive had pain on the right side of my neck (im guessing lymph node). It is very sensitive to touch. Also when I swallow there is a sharp pain on the right side of my throat. It has been going off and on for the past 2 days. Ive recently had an upper respritory infection 3-4 days ago, could this be related??

  • I have the same problem. My symptoms are painful to touch lymph node on right side only next to adams apple area. This was the start 4 days ago, then it radiated up my right jaw to my ear. It is painful to lean my head to the left or back as if I am looking at the sky. I went to my doctor and was told it was probably an infection in the lymph node due to post nasal drip. I have had no fever and was tested for strep which was negative. My ears and tonsils were clear, however had a little inflammation in my sinuses, which I am prone to sinus infections. I have checked with two friends who are nurses, and they both said it does happen and not to worry, just keep an eye on it. I was put on antibiotics and a nasal steriod. I was told to contact my doctor within a few days if I was not getting better.I would say, see your doctor and get a check up for strep and mono, just to make sure. Can't say I feel better yet, but it's only been a few days since I started the antibiotics. Good luck.
