Oral Symtoms

The back of my tongue has been slightly yellow/white for the past few months. When I brush the color goes away but towards the end of the day the tongue is still that color. As well I have experience a sore throat sometimes on one side of my throat and slightly swollen glands. My throat typically only hurts when swollowing but it often feel likes something is in it. Sometimes it seems I have some whitish drainaige down the back of my throat that tends to make it hurt.

Along with this I have seen some smaller red blotches or spots that occur on the indside of my cheeks. Typically they only occur with one or two at a time for about a day or so.

My elbow also has a strange rash on it - slightly white and itches - looks like really dry skin. I have been constantly putting lotion on it and it seems to be going away. But my upper arms (on the inner part) and stomach have itched as well - no signs of bumps or anything.

Any ideas? Connected - not connected?:(

  • I could be wrong but the mouth condition alone seems bacteria related & possibly because you have put it off, you are now experiencing other problems suchas the spots on the inner cheeks. The dentist is probably the best person to inspect! The itching I have no idea about & certainly wouldn't know if the two lots of symptoms are connected, although a viral illness of some sort seems to be the more obvious answer (providing the two are related).Again my suggestion to you is to visit the dentist, first at least to clear up the on-going problem & mention the rash to him. If your dentist doesn't know about the rash, then go to you doctor but at least the rash itself is gone. The itching could be due to viral or blood disorder, I mean they are the obvious things to rule out along with liver conditions. Do you drink much alcohol?...Just get it checked out!!

  • The yellow coating in the back of your tongue indicates a damp heat condition in the lower part of your body, according to Chinese Medicine. Do you have any loose stools, or diarrhea? Constipation? Any urinary problems or history of UTI's? If you are female - any problems with yeast infections? Do you have nasal congestion? History of sinusitis? The itchy rash and drainage down your throat could be candida...it is possible you have a bacterial infection - but this would most likely have manifested with a fever and flu like symptoms originally.
