  • I've been looking for an answer to this problem for years. I just read something interesting from the International Rosacea Society's website called Clock Rosacea or Systemic Flushing. The article explains that the flushing is related to the sympathetic nervous system, and can be caused by an increase in internal body temperature which is typically highest between 3 and 8 PM, stress/anxiety, or lack of sleep. It also explains why flushing often occurs after meals.
