My wife have lost the taste sense a couple of weeks ago but her smell is fine. We have been reading different views on the internet. Our GP simply said that "he doesn't know what is the cause of this" and hasn't offered any treatment. She is very frustrated because of this and has stopped eating hardly anything. Today she has done one treatment of acupuncture in a local clinic following a recomendation but so far it did not help at all. Most of the information we can find relates to loss of smell + taste together which is not the case here. We have seen descriptions of several possible causes but cannot seem to find any cures proposed. My wife is normally a very healthy person who eats well and balanced, she hasn't had a cold, a fall or any illness prior to starting losing the taste sense. Can anyone please help ?!
