mouth blister/ulcer--not herpes

I have a large blister/lump on the inside of my bottom lip that developed almost a month ago after I bit it a few times accidentally. I recently went to the doctor to see if this would ever go away and she said it's just one of those things I need to wait for. Meanwhile, it changes from day to day and is sometimes not a bother and sometimes a huge painful blister! I've tried to pop it with a needle but that didn't do much. I'm tempted to cut it open I want it gone so bad! Does anyone have any home remedies to get rid of a stubborn mouth ulcer quickly? Suggestions would be much appreciated!
