Left side throat pain

Ok I am probably sure that this had been mentioned in I don't know previous posts but anyways.

I have a cold, well it is not as bad now as it was last week. All I have is the cough and little bit of phlegm left on occasion. So my concern is that my throat is starting to hurt a little, its not bad like a week ago but I can feel it. I can swallow although, when I bring my tongue back it'll hurt a little. I went to the emergency room last week to see what was wrong, they did an xray of my throat and prescribed me with promethanzine-dm (which was used for my phlegm, though it did help me get a runny nose and made my left side of my ear less cloggy) and iburprofen if I end up getting a fever. The doctor didn't help me much on my throat issue, they all just told me I had a viral pharyngitis and to rest up for the whole weekend and I should be back ready to go. It actually worked until I got the worry some of this throat pain on the left side and as for my ear its still kind of clogged it does not bug me much. I told the doctor about it and he saw it was red at the time he did not do nothing.

I've heard it from here and elsewhere forums it can be a sinus infection but I don't really have any other symptoms like every one else. Last week I probably did but thats because I had a cold. My neck is not stiff or painful, my nose is rarely runny and I can breath through it. The only thing I do have is my nose gets very dry and clogged with boogers but that has happen before I even got this.

So any one know anything. Would really appreciate it, thank you.
