I am going to marry a girl , whose father has post-lingual deafness, approximate age of onset of his deafness was 12 to 15 years.

And i recently came to know that all of her uncles ,i.e all the three brothers of her father also have deafness and are using hearing aids.
But all the children in family are normal (her brother and other cousins).

i have no information on other second and third degree relatives.
also i dont know whether the grandparents had normal hearing.
please advice me , should i marry this girl.

I think this is an autosomal recessive kind of inheritance or X-linked recessive.
if so what are the chances of my children being deaf?
My family history is absolutely normal..
plz reply soon..as i could lose this girl if i dont reply to her..
thank you .
