gum pain after eating

I had five veneers fitted to my upper front teeth six weeks ago and have suffered gum pain ever since. My teeth and gums get very sore after I have eaten solids, I therefore avoid any food that has to be chewed and I have lost 10lb in weight. My dentist says I have high sensitivity and must persevere. I am using sensodyne and chlorydol which soothes. I feel like telling him to take all five teeth out as the pain is making my life a misery.

Can anyone out there help,
