We took our daughter to her doctor last week and the doctor checked inside her nose due to slight congestion.
The doctor said the passages have a blue tint or look blue or something like that and said that means she has allergies. Prescription was a steroidal nose spray to be used every day.
Is this for real? I spent ten years as a teen/young adult going to the allergist twice a week and never heard anything about a blue nose being a sure indicator.
I've found references to it online, but am still having trouble believing the diagnosis is so simple and the proper first treatment is steroids. Does anyone have any experience with this also? Why would allergies, and allergies only, cause a blue color in the nose?
This doctor is okay...same one for three years, no reason to say 'great doctor', but no reason to say 'bad doctor' either.
