hi everyone, my husband is due to be having a fess op (sinus) i would love to hear from anyone who has had this operation or has knowledge of it asap, as we have read lots on internet and it seems a very dangerous risky and sometimes even pointless (not always working and even causing more problems) operation to have. does anyone know any other alternatives to this?

  • My father had deviated septum surgery with great results. I had deviated septum and polums removed and I have terrible symptoms now of nose bleeds, scabs, sores, you name it! I can't tell much difference before and after.

  • My mother has had a Sinus Operation and also had polyps removed from her nose. They did it succesfully, although it didn't do a great deal for her, her nose is alot better than before, i'm pretty sure the operation will be fine, you have nothing to worry about.Although it may not do a great deal or it MAY DO, it's worth it and won't make anything worse to be quite honest with you.

  • I recently ( one month ago) had a cyst removed from my maxillary sinus (under my right eye) I had pain that felt similiar to an extreme sinus infection before my surgery as well as headaches that they treated as migraines. Since the surgery, my headaches and pain are gone, BUT.... I have an excessive amount of post nasal drip and have had severe dry mouth. My throat ( for some reason unknown to me or the doctors !!!) is so sore it hurts to swallow. It is the worst sore throat I have ever had, now this may not be the case for everyone but I was tubed during my surgery... I dont know, I look at it this way, if it is in your face it shouldn't wait to get fixed... I read alot about my surgery and it said it wasnt always necessary, but I was not going to wait to find it was worse because I waited.. I am sure everything will be alright and your husband will feel better after the recovery.. Good Luck.

Stay positive. It took only 30 minutes for the surgey, they gave me a bell so when I wanted to breathe I could and then they finished up the surgery. they had to numb inside of my nose with a needle and no it did not feel good but the end result was I could breathe better, I had to keep my head still doing this time frame but it was okay because I could Take Breathing breaks in between this timeframe.
