i think i have an abscess. I felt a bump in my mouth last night and touched it with a finger, and it POPPED! It was a blister with puss in it :( so I took a picture of the inside of my mouth and saw that my 2nd to last back molar is cracked. The only weird thing is I have no pain...so does that rule out abscess? Maybe it is nothing? The tooth crack worries me regardless so I am going to go to the dentist and have it looked at.

  • sometimes abcesses don't hurt, i have had problems with the same exact tooth. No pain, but a big bump that popped and had a ton of puss come out. That should have cleared it up for now..but it wil eventually come back, and get worse. Your tooth has the pulp exposed, and it can rot right out of your head, which is verrrrry painful. It's happening to me now, so don't let it happen to you!!

  • Yes you can have an abscessed tooth and it doesnt hurt - if the nerve is dead - you wont feel pain. Please see a dentist ASAP. If you neglect it , the infection can spread to the next tooth and create issues there. You can also develop abscesses in the pocket of the gum surrounding a tooth if food became entrapped. Rinse with salt water and see your dentist.
