Okay , i am into making music, so i have headfones on quite a long time through the day.

Recently months ago i my right ear pains, crackles when i push it in below my ear.

Also along with the ear pain when i compare my left side of the neck to my left side, i notice that a nerve connecting from my right ear is hard.

The left side is completely fine.

I have been smoking , but very occasionally about 2 per day, now I'm using nicotine gums to see is smoking was the reason.

I am really worried, as i can not work on my music due to the pain.

I also feel a lump on my right side neck, i am allergic i sneeze in the night and morning early.

Even now i can feel that my right side is bulky

The nerve is very hard, please tell me what it could be.

Thanks for the help.

  • Part of it sounds like a eustachian tube problem from the headphones. Sweating, a little dirt in them, loud noise can cause infections & smoking can lead to allergies and cause havoc in the ear. I work in a call ctr and use hands free and I get problems in my ears from time to time, I also smoke. http://www.patient.co.uk/showdoc/27001164/ http://www.medicinenet.com/eustachian_tube_problems/article.htm Good luck As EvErCat

  • I would check with the Dr about the soreness and swelling, the nicotine gum sure could cause the soreness & and constant chewing can aggravate the whole ear thing also. The swelling you speak of does concern me cus you may have an infection goin on so please seek medical attention just to be safe. As EvErCat

  • Hello, I'm on the edge of my seat! Did you find out what's wrong? As soon as I saw your post I was going to write "GET TO A DOCTOR ASAP!" but saw that you already planned on going the next day. Then...nothing? I was worried about you having one sided swelling and I Hope you have a doctor who did thorough diagnostic tests and treatment. Good luck, hope you're better and back to the music!Sahara
