I can relate to this issue very much as I suffered from this for years and years. After a routine visit to my dentist where I got really dizzy when I went to a standing position I was referred to a specialist re: TMJ. It was the greatest thing that ever happened to me. After testing and such, I was given a mouth appliance that I wore for 3 months and then only at night. My ear problems are gone-no more ear pain, feelings of fullness, fluid, popping and wowing noises, dizziness - all gone. As well my sore neck is gone and problems with my shoulders and upper and lower back are gone. It is amazing to think that a jaw that is out of alignment could cause all these problems but it can. Also can cause memory problems and much more. I had every test known to man, saw so many flippin' doctors, and just about killed myself with antibiotics - but no more. Just thought I would pass this along. It may not be everyone's answer but it sure was for me.:)

  • Samantha, I have been dealing with the same ear problems, and given meds that do not relieve the problem. I was diagnosed with tmj years ago, but my doctor says the fluid in ear and chirping (loud and/or softly) is not related to the tmj. I questioned the tmj as i had a hunch that was causing my problems. Do you know what kind of mouth appliance you are using? also, what is the cost associated with an appliance where i have no insurance. I have been using a rubber mouth guard from the drug store, but that in fact has increased my ear pain. please help, my email address is: Jrealestatejane@aol.comthank you, Jane

  • but the mouth appliance they give you does not reset your jaw, unless you have some other new kind of appliance? so what is the name of the appliance you got anyways? is it just a mouthguard made out of a mold of your teeth or what? I use a mouthguard at night sometimes cause I basically had a crossbite there for awhile, and it was causing discomfort chewing. and also maybe i was grinding my teeth a bit. but now it seems to be back to normal, but I think I might still use a mouthguard at night just to be sure.
