Hello. I hope this is in the correct forum.

Can anyone tell me if Ataxia can make someone constantly refer to themselves in the third person? I've met someone who claims to have Ataxia and insists that that condition makes him talk and write that way. From what little I've read on it, it seems that Ataxia only causes problems with motor skills. Is there any precedent for what he claims?

I have a friend who referred to himself in the third person, too; I haven't seen him in a long time, so I don't know if he still does it or not, but the last time I talked to him, he sounded like that guy who was in a couple episodes of "Seinfeld"; I think his name was Jimmy, or something...anyway, yeah, it's annoying, but if we were all the same, this world would be a very boring place. I hope this helps. :)
