Quick digestion?

Ok...so this is kind of weird but here goes.

I usually don't have a bowel movement very often, but I have been having them daily (often for me) for the last week or so. Tonight, I went within 2 hrs. of dinner and I saw (GASP!) my dinner! I know this is kind of gross, but I had cooked spinach with dinner that was very bright green (and therefore easy to identify in the stool). It was right there, when it had just been in my mouth. I thought that digestion took longer than that, like more than 8 hrs. I didn't have diarrhea. Anyway...that's my story.

  • It is not quick digestion. If your body was digesting it then you would not be able to identify it in the toilet. What you have is something which is causing increased motility (movement in your digestive tract)or something which is causing decreased digestion.

  • I have the same problem. I go to the toilet within 15-20 mins of eating food? Is that a problem? I know it doesn't seem right. Can anyone shed light on this please??

  • I have had 1 hour transit times on really spicy foods. There is a great book by Brenda Watson, "GUT Solutions", that explains that a healthy digestive track will rapidly pass a meal, if it detects anything wrong with what you ate. If this happens all the time, then there is something wrong.

  • Thanks for the reply. I'm going to order the book and read it :)
