Have been loosing weight for about 6 yrs while trying to gain all the time. Test for cancer, crohns, ulcerative colitis negative. Occasionally one soft stool in one day. No diarrhea. Two days ago I noticed big indentation on the fingernail next to the cuticle.

  • Over active thyroid gland? I'm not a doctor or anything but I know someone very thin who can't gain weight and she has an over active thyroid gland. Also maybe you just have a very fast metabolism?

  • Hmm well there are two ways to gain fat, by eating fats directly and by hitting the bread. Try it with just regular fats one year if that doesn't work, try it with breads another year. It's possible to me at least that your stomach could be having difficulty digesting one of those, thereby causing chronic weight loss. You need to figure out which one is causing you problems. The fingernail indention thing is flagging crone's out to me. Maybe have them do an endoscopy down your throat.
