Hello. I am writting because my son had a cavity on one of his molars. The dentist suggested a crown. My son's mouth is the a nightmare. :( We had bottle mouth. Yes, my fault. A crown was done on the baby tooth. If I remember correctly NO root canal was done. I picked him up from day care, he is 5 yo, and his cheeck was all red. By nighttime, the right side of his face was swollen. After a visit to an ER (I thought it was medcial), my son was dx'd with a dental absess.
1. I understand that there are many causes, but only 2 months and now an absess. The nurse at the ER said the crown was not correctly fit and food got in???
I want to know, how and why this happened? Did I do something? Flossing his teeth? Did I cause it??
This is off topic but the dentist would NOT see my son during all of this. He said that I need to go to a specialist, but would not refer me because I took the "medical" approach first. What a ***k!
The last 4 days has been a nightmare. My son had his tooth out 2 days ago. Should my sons regular dentist have seen him???
I am not asking questions to pursue any legal action. I am new to the whole dental problem area and feel that my son should have been seen my the regualr dentist and that only 2 months with a crown, the dentist might have missed something. Anyone??? Please??
