today i went to the doctors to get the results of my most recent blood tests and it came back that i have hemochromatosis also know as iron overload, my doctor said he has never seen it in a female before and never in someone so young.

he said one of my parents is the carrier for this disease so we will most likely be having my whole family tested for hemochromatosis and to find out which of my parents is the carrier.

what i am a little confused about is that before this diagnosis i was told i have anemia, b12 deficiency and vitamin d deficiency. how can i have anemia and have hemochromatosis when anemia is low in iron and hemochromatosis is very high in iron?

i also didnt think my iron levels would be to high because i am a vegetarian.
