I have had my large intestine removed and in it's place the small intestine was hooked up to my rectum indirectly using an Ileoanal reservoir. This surgery was done 10 years ago. I am now suffering from (seems like my intestine close to the rectum gets a blockage), sometimes I have a severe case of constipation and it is hard for me to discharge withouta lot of pain. Sometimes I have loose movements, I would imagine it is due to my diet. I now use Lidocain to ease the pain I have after each bowel movement, about 6 or 7 during the day and a couple times during the night. I am not able to sleep much due to the pain of this obstruction, the Lidocain does ease the pain to a minimum and only for a little while. I am not sure that the pain is due to actual blockage, (this is only my opinion), does it seem possible that this is the cause for this pain. Also, I am using Lidocain 5%, a tube of 33.44g about every 5 days, is this feasible?Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
