I am a 23 year old male who at this point is wanting to really give up trying. In 2006 I was having a lot of issues (Bloody loose stools, cramping, severe lower abdomen pains, lost 100lbs + in less than 4 months without trying, etc) was hospitalized for 8 days and after a lot of tests and a colonoscopy later i was diagnosed with what was written down as "Ulcerative Colitis vs Crohns". The doctor said he wrote it that way because it was def one or the other but i needed more tests to determine which one.

The colonoscopy showed that i had Inflammation and ulcers (some bleeding) pretty much throughout my GI tract from my stomach, small bowel, colon, etc. i had a slight thickening of the colon wall, as well as an H. pylori infection. ( the infection was treated, i was tested again and tested neg) The doctor only ended up taking the case, since he normally dealt with much older patients, because he said he had never seen it be as bad as it was, in a person as young as i was (we started when i was 17 trying to figure out what was wrong)

The symptoms were so bad i dropped out of college before the end of my first semester in 06 and because of that i was then dropped off of my Insurance which meant no more procedures or major tests. I was put on Pentasa (sp?) and stayed on that for 6 months as well as mild steroid treatments, it worked for about the first 3 and then was later changed to Asacol when the symptoms came back. I stayed on that (even though without insurance it was at least $400 a month) until about 2008 when I couldn't afford it anymore and stopped taking it all together. Thankfully, even though i stopped the meds the symptoms didnt return. When i spoke with my doctor he assured me that it was because I was in remission from thee UC/Crohns.

Around the beginning of 2009 the symptoms started to flare up again. First with the diarrhea, gas, bloating and cramping and then later the mucous in my stool returned. **note**i HAVE NOT had any blood in my stool since the initial flare up in 06** I went to see a new GI who did a C.oscopy and told me that I looked perfectly healthy. He said there was no thickening of my colon, no scar tissue from healed ulcers, no inflammation. Nothing. I got really upset, left the office, and didnt return.

I assumed ( in my arrogance) that this doctor must be wrong. The initial doctor that diagnosed me was not only a family friend for 10+ years, he had been practicing medicine for 30+ and was a highly respected GI. He couldnt have been wrong, so i got a second opinion, and a third, and fourth.

Today i got the results back from my "5th" opinion and his was exactly the same as the previous. Other than esophogitis (which i have always had a problem with stomach acid) i was perfectly healthy. THey have run blood tests, stool tests, urine tests, all kinds of tests. I have had cts, nuclear med scans (where they had me swallow something and watched it on like a live x-ray?), colonoscopy (s), endosco py(s), you name it...I'm easily 30k in debt and everything comes back negative. Ive been tested, and have gone on a gluten free diet, for celiacs and that is negative.

To this day i still have the same symptoms. Horrible diarrhea (I can use the bathroom between 10-15 times a day and if its not complete liquid its extremley loose), Yellowish stool (not constant goes between yellow and greenish), and it always has a lot mucous. I have horrible stomach cramps in my lower abdomen, almost like i really have to use the bathroom. I have them even when i dont have to use the bathroom though. I also have this constant "achy" feeling in my whole lower abdomen, almost like its raw. I like to explain it as " It feels like someone took a melon scraper to the inside of my stomach".

I dont know what is wrong with me, but i know it's not in my head. I have been put on anti-depressants and anti-anxeity meds off and on to make sure, but it cant be in my head. I am running out of options (well atleast i feel that way)... If anyone has any suggestions PLEASE reply
