Hello. I am new to this forum.

For the past couple of weeks I have been experiancing symptoms of Colon Cancer namely

01. Narrow Stools
02. Constipation (Recent Symptom)
03. A feeling of something stuck in my anus (Recent Symptom)
04. A feeling that my bowel does empty completly
05. Some abdominal discomfort (Not painfull)
06. Gas

I am 25 Years Old who doe not have a family history of Colon Cancer. But I do fit into 3 risk factors for Colon Cancer.

01. I am sad to say obese (But I have began loosing weight, in six moths I have lost 30 pounds, I am at 245 Pounds)
02. I dont get enough exersise because I have a balance problem I think I might have MdDS syndrome.
03. I eat alot of red meat and not enough vegables and fruit (But I am starting to cut down on my meat and eating more fruits, vegatbles and fish).

Can a person like me who has no family history of Colon Cancer get it at my age?

How long does a Polyp take to grow, and how long does a Polyp take to turn Cancerous?

What age should you get screeened for Colon Cancer?

Can a diet change cause Bowel habbits to change?

I am sad to say a Hypochondriac and a Cyberchondriac and go to the doctor about 3-5 times a year. I always get an A+ on my health. Blood Suger, Blood Preasure and Cholostrol are all good. I do have major Anxiety though and I always have these symptoms of deseses that my doctor says that I dont have. Can Anxiety and hypochondria creat symtpoms of diseases that you dont have?

Does Irritable Bowel Syndrome have symtpoms similiar to Colon Cancer?

BTW I dont smoke and I drink very rarely.

I think I am going insane with all these symptoms that I have and I am sick of them. Is their anything that can help a Hypochondriac like me get over Anxiety and hypochondria?.

Can Tomato Products like Ketchup and Black Tea fight against Colon Cancer and help prevent it?

I WOULD APPRECIATE IT IF YOU CAN HELP ME OUT. I PARTICULARY WOULD LIKE AN OPPION FROM A DOCTOR ON THIS FORUM.

  • This is what u call tough love........and I am not a doctor just a mum who would say this to her son/daughter ! It is not good to try & diagnose urself, way to many illnessess have similar symptoms, u'll worry urself to death........so stop doing it if it causes u so much worry. Go to ur doctors let him sort u out.....its probably something to do with change of diet & even maybe a hemorrhoid internally. A little knowledge is dangerous......and one will jump to the worse case senario. Go back to ur doctor who will exmaine u & run tests if needed. My sister in law is a doctor & there is no way on this earth would she give an opinion or possible causes without seeing the patient. She would say "Go back to ur Doctor" ! In the mean time drink more water, eat more veg & fruit, even take Cod liver oil capsuals, also more exercise, doing all these would help with ur constipation. Take care of urself & keep at the diet.......anything worth doing is never easy ! Good Luck :) I wish u well !

  • Bless you, firstly relax your anxiety and look at things as they are, from your symptoms I (who has had every colon op going) and now had my colon removed...think you may have a rectal prolapse not cancer. My Step dad has just been rushed through as they thought he had colon cancer, he was losing loads and loads of blood when having a bm, had been very ill for a long time, he lost weight rapidly....google rectal prolapse and check this symptoms against yours:)

  • You have at least two things going for you; you don't smoke and you drink rarely. Keep moving in that direction by cutting out, or way down, on the red meat. You really don't need any red meat, in my opinion. Chicken has plenty of protein. Actually you do not need to eat any meat to get sufficient protein, but as you seem to be a definite carnivore try switching to poultry. And eat vegetables, fruits and whole grains. I think you just need to change your habits. You will be amazed, I think, at the positive difference a better diet and exercise, (start with a walk around the block), can make. Take charge and make yourself feel better.Good Luck, you can do it.

See my personal web page www.kerrymaidmentinfo.co.uk and see if you have any similar symptoms, I feel your symptoms are just normal bowel related ones and Im sure your Gp could help. Sounds like a prolapse to me which is quite common and seeing a hypochondriac is irrelavent, I suffer anxiety myself though not to that degree but you still need your mind put at rest
