I am a 47 year old female who has suffered from severe constipation since I was 14. I was diagnosed with a megacolon in 1977 and had one surgery which did not help the constipation. I then moved to another state and have been to numerous docors since then all of which have told me to add more fiber, eat more fruit & so on & so on. I have been on every type of medication out there for constipation and nothing helped. I have had tests for foods that I'm allergic to and cut them out, I have done everything! I recently went for a colonoscopy which revealed popyps & diverticilitus(sp???) I then went on to have tests which revealed possible hirschsprungs. My problem??? I need a good surgeon who specializes in adult onset hirschsprungs in and around WV, VA, NC ,PA or OH. Has anyone had the surgery for hirschsprungs and what was the outcome? Any info would be greatly appreciated.Reply Follow This Thread Stop Following This Thread Flag this Discussion
