I'm 16 and for about 2 years now I've been having chest pain. I don't remember when it started but I've been experiencing this on and off again sharp tearing/ripping, stabbing sensation, along with tightness, and squeezing. Sometime I get the stabbing sensation in various parts of my chest, and from my chest through my back, as if i was stabbed all the way through.

I've been to the cardiopulmonary doctor and they've ruled it out as my heart as the problem. I'm tired of going to the doctor because she says the same thing.

Any help on helping me figuring out what this is would be appreciated.

  • Hi, I think I know what you're saying. I am 16 and have been having the same chest pains on and off for about a year. I haven't been to the doctor about it, though, b/c it seems like every time I am about to go, they stop. I've also had breathing problems on and off, though. It feels like I cannot get enough air, and it will stay like that for a few days before going away. It gets worse when I think too much about it- I start to panic and that worsens it. Do you have this also?

  • It sounds very much like a condition that comes and goes, called costochondritis. Have a look on Google about it.
